Every year, many world-class events draw foreign visitors to Malaysia. By providing wide-ranging support to event organizers and helping to bring together the necessary resources from various organizations, Tourism Malaysia helps to ensure the continued popularity of these international events.

World Amateur Inter-Team Golf Championship (WAITGC)
WAITGC was organised with the objective of promoting holiday destinations that offer golfing facilities to both the international and local markets. The championship is open to teams of amateur golfers.

Colours of Malaysia
Presenting Malaysia's rich culture and tradition through a showcase of cultural activities, handicrafts exhibition, sumptuous cuisine and resplendent costumes. The Colours of Malaysia is also displayed throughout the country for a whole month with a variety of cultural activity. It will be an unforgettable cultural experience.

Malaysian Megasale

Local and international emporiums, designer boutiques and stores all across Malaysia participate in the creation of a fantastic shopping extravaganza. Extraordinary discounts at retail outlets throughout the country offer bargains galore for both local and overseas shoppers. Highlights of the carnival include a Made in Malaysia Exhibition and Malaysian Fashion Week, where local designers, from the rapidly burgeoning fashion industry, display their latest creations.

Water Festival

The month-long Water Festival is aimed at reviving the glorious water-based events of our yesteryears. It also aims to instill appreciation towards Malaysia's natural wonders and promote them as a tourist attraction for the domestic and international market. Join in for a spalshing time!

Food & Fruit Fiesta 2003

Malaysia is famous for its tempting array of culinary delights, derived from its potpourri of cultures and races. This fiesta is held to introduce to visitors the various fruits and cuisine of colourful Malaysia. Most of these delights are available anywhere at anytime. The lively culture of 'makan-makan' or enjoying a hearty meal is a fun-filled activity for Malaysians. Tourists are invited to tuck-into the glorious platter and share the camaraderie!

Merdeka Day Parade
Malaysia celebrates 46 years of independence or 'Merdeka' on the morning of 31st August with a colourful - grand parade at Putrajaya Boulevard in Putrajaya with the theme of 'Keranamu Malaysia'. Festivities start the night before with an open-air concert at the same venue during the 'Merdeka Eve Celebrations' with popular Malaysia singers & celebrities. Graced by His Majesty the Yang Di-Pertuan Agong (the King), the Merdeka Day Parade is also attended by government leaders & members of the diplomatic corps.
