Trekking is one of the best ways to appreciate the rich biodiversity and beautiful scenery of Indonesia. There are a variety of options when it comes to trekking in Indonesia you can hike up one of the 120 active volcanoes, trek through dense jungle, climb a mountain or explore remote villages or cultural sites. Anak Krakratau, Mount Tangkuban Perahu, Mt. Bromo and Ujung Kulon National Reserve are destinations that are ideal for trekking.Conservation treks are becoming popular throughout Indonesia, many of which involve a jungle trek, that really provides an insight into the flora and fauna of Indonesia, an experienced guide will often give you interesting tips on jungle remedies and uses of various plants and animals.

Trekking times vary depending on the tour operator and location chosen, all good tour operators specify the suitability of the trek for children, please do check before taking a trek on the time it is to take and the level of fitness required, some of the treks offered in Indonesia are for the experience trekker only.
